We can perform most types of IV access & care for infusions including traditional PIV insertion, Central Line, PICC and Midline care, and implanted port access, and more.
We provide patient education in the expected outcomes of therapy, complication prevention and management, and in the administration of infusion therapy when indicated.
Difficult venous access doesn’t have to mean multiple attempts. When patients need it, our skilled IV nurses have the option to use our advanced vein visualization devices from transilluminators, to near infrared, or ultrasound guidance to improve first-attempt success. This results in fewer sticks to gain access, greater patient comfort, and fewer delays in therapy.
Our education programs are led by Alice Cennamo, MSN, RN, CRNI®, VA-BC™, Alice is dual board certified in infusion nursing & vascular access, and has a master’s in nursing education. The combination of clinical expertise and formal nurse educator training is rare in this field. Patients of specialty/ home infusion pharmacies are referred to us by the pharmacies or by a patient's medical provider to schedule a nurse to provide home infusion nursing services.
Our nurses are all experienced registered nurses that have years of experience and training in administering intravenous medications. In addition our nursing team is well rounded with backgrounds in a variety of specialties including emergency care, critical care, medical/ surgical care, pediatrics, and IV team nursing.
Intravenous infusion therapies that are available for home infusion have been proven to be a safe and effective alternative to hospital or clinic-based care for many diagnoses. Receiving iv therapy at home may be a better lifestyle fit for many patients, as it can be more convenient to receive treatments at home than going to a hospital or infusion center for treatment.
Home infusion nurses perform an initial assessment and involve patients in planning their care before administering an infusion therapy. This helps to ensure that getting the ordered therapy at home is a good match, and helps patients achieve the best outcomes.
